Have you ever lost your cell phone or other beloved electronic device due to excessive water damage? If so then this is the egg for you!

All you need is a bowl of rice ($2 at food lion)

And your wet device

then simply place your wet device(NOTE:be sure take place the battery and back plate in there seperately[take the phone apart]) into the bowl of rice and the moisture from within will be absorbed by the rice and your phone will most likey be saved. I know this egg was short but that is all there is to it.

My phone went in the toilet a year and a half ago so I might have tried it then but I don’t have anything to test it on right now.
I don’t have any way of testing this so I’m not voting until someone else says this works.

This does work.
It’s not guaranteed to save the device, but it’s worth a try.

Unfortunately it’s the current from the battery that does the permanent damage to the device as it’s going in ways it shouldn’t through the moisture.

This will only work if the current that was short circuited through the device did no damage, then it’s a simple dry out problem which this would solve.

Definitely worth a shot.
It saved my BluePoint meter from purple Koolaid and an 8-yr old.

having your cellphone in your chest pocket, bending over to vomit and gravity takes care of the rest?

^You just love doing what? Why would you 0* it? Just because the idea is in Instructables? He didn’t C/P, so big whoop... Most ideas are already out there somewhere. Doesn’t make it a bad egg.

Don’t feel bad one of my friends was drunk and managed to drop his phone in a glass of beer while talking to his girlfriend, and get broken up with on the same night lol... True story

5*s.
I dropped a crappy cell phone in the toilet just to try it, and it worked.
